2002 Joseph Phelps Insignia

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Sunday, June 28, 2015 - Have coravin'd several glasses out of the same bottle; first glass was disappointing and shallow. Another pop glass from the same bottle three months later showed an aged new world nose of leather and ripe berries. Fine-grained tannins provide some up-front edge, but this is otherwise a fruit-driven offering, showing ripe black fruit with a modest finish. Much more enjoyable but still not a wine for long-term aging. Concur with 2018 drink-by date.
