Tuesday, June 21, 2016 - Very dense layers of fruit; blackberries and blackcurrant. Smells of French oak and spices. Intense wine and coiled up at this stage. Needs a long time in the cellar. Shows some licorice, creamy oak and a pinch of eucalyptus on the palate. Very well balanced acidity. Massive fruit depth cannot be overstated. It is a very big wine, but not overripe. Oak will need 10 years to be swallowed up by the fruit. Good length, solid tannin structure. Drank this 10 years too early. Will wait for the next one. Patience will reward after 2025+
