Monday, December 21, 2015 - Lunch at Odette (Odette, National Gallery, Singapore): I enjoyed this. It had a wonderful nose, just lightly floral, with nice mineral notes dancing around clear tones of sweet dark cherries and fresh berries touched with forestry earth and just the lightest dusting of spice. The palate was a little on the leaner, more austere side, but still had a decent fullness to it, with cool, clear dark cherry and berry flavours laced with more of those subtle spice and mineral notes. Masculine in structure, like many Engel wines, but with a nicely elegant feel that made it a joy to drink. Good now.
