Tuesday, March 11, 2014 - Decanted for ~ 1 hr. Dark crimson in color. A big ripe nose of red fruit led to a similar profile on the palate. Very ripe strawberry and raspberry with a some darker cherry notes as well. The 15% abv is held by the fruit quite well. A bit of oak showing, but well in check. There seemed to be some earthy notes and spice buried in there, but they were muted by the ripe fruit. Will hold the remainder of the bottles to see if the fruit comes into check.
