Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - Golden hue. Very nice acidity and long finish. Lots of life left here. Besides the hints of citrus, less about fruit than mushroom, toasted nuts, , etc. Interesting for my first foray into aged bubbly. I would have liked to have seen more yeasty, doughy notes and more fruit--but I guess that goes with the territory here. There is also somewhat of a slightly oxidized or sherried note that may or may not be typical of older champagne. I personally did not care for that element.
