Thursday, March 17, 2016 - From a cooler and more interesting year, this is an intriguing wine. The fruit is deep and dark but its essence is elusive. Notes of iron, earth and black olives on the nose. There is a hint of chocolate on dark berries throughout the tightly defined fruit. But there is a subtle depth to this that seems to just be emerging. What lies ahead?

IMHO, it has improved over the last few years and will probably get better still but time will tell. Usually the extra time softens the massive fruit on these wines and the drinking preference really is based on the flavor profile that one prefers. But me thinks this vintage is bit different in this regards. Have fun either way.
