Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - A seriously built wine with the price-tag of a home-made wine. Weak upon POP but beefed up tremendously after 48 hrs of slow ox.
Rich cherry-coffee taste, rough M+ tannins with some stemmy bitterness, M+ acids, mature fruit, M body. Has that ethereal cherry lift on the finish. Builds up well in the mouth and finishes long. Enough complexity to be interesting several dinners in a row. A keeper for now.
At 34 SEK (USD5.50, €4.30) this is a fabulous no-brainer!

Note to self: next time I see a Chianti Riserva from a great vintage at this price... Do NOT feel suspicious, I repeat: do NOT feel suspicious about quality and buy only one btl. Praise the lard and get at least a case!
