Sunday, March 24, 2013 - I drank my last bottle of the '02 Alexander Valley last night. Although the grapes hung on the vines 11 years ago, the wine held up very well. When I opened the bottle I was already amazed in what good shape the cork was. There was no seepage. I decanted the wine for a good 2 hours. There was no wine crystals in the bottle. The wine tasted very good. Lots of different fruits. Typcial CA cab. I was a little disappointed with the finish, which was not as smooth as other Silveroaks before. I would say that the wine could still age for another 2-4 years with appropriate cellaring. Overall a very good bottle of Silveroak, yet I've had better from them.
