Thursday, February 14, 2008 - Wasn't sure what to expect, the ratings are all over the place on this one. I don't see why some rated this so low, this is a wonderful wine in my opinion. This wine has a great nose of black currant, plum, vanilla, blackberry. On the palate is a beautiful integration of dark fruits and vanilla/cigar box and smooth tannin and finish. This is a much more fruit forward wine than any Silver Oak I can remember and perhaps this is the basis of most complaints. Definitely not a collectable wine, if you've got a lot of it, start drinking it because it's peaking. Reminds me a lot of some of the better Karl Lawrence cabernets.
