Wednesday, January 25, 2017 - Bordeaux vs Cal (Bordeaux Blends) - $20 to $40 (Trent's): The group liked this more than I and was in fact the groups WOTN. Purple in color, ruby at the rim. The nose has ripe black cherry fruit. On the palate, this is ripe black cherry fruit. There is some black olive and I thought i got some VA which made me wonder if there is more than a bit of Syrah in here? Lots of tannins. It is a solid wine that to me needs time. If there is Syrah, 2010 is a slow maturing year and that would make some sense. Anyone know?
