Monday, December 31, 2012 - An strong spiciness (black pepper) on the nose and palate that would had led me to guess syrah had I not known better. Dense, silky mouthfeel with flavors of plum and other black fruits. But nothing about this wine seemed consistent with the typical Screaming Eagle profile - it was simply too big. Also fairly tannic, so I would recommend a long decant or a few more years in the cellar.
