Wednesday, January 20, 2021 - From an incredibly well stored stash picked up at auction, this is my eighth half bottle in the past six months. It has been an incredibly consistent and delicious wine straight out of the bottle. Reading other recent tasting notes, storage must be the key difference.

This evening, two hours later in a Burgundy Zalto glass to enjoy the full aromatics shows a clear wine, light amber at the edge and fine sediment towards the end of the bottle. The aromas are now soaring out of the glass, beautiful evolved sweet delicate fruit with a pinch of tertiary undergrowth. In the mouth a lovely sweet entry coats the palate with an excellent balance of freshness, structure, considerable tannins still, sweet evolved fruit, and good length. Just a delightful wine and everything you could wish for in a 30+ year old Chateauneuf with surprising consistency in every bottle so far.
