Monday, December 26, 2022 - Finally popped this open on Christmas day with my girlfriend and drank over 4 hours. Faded light ruby, bricking on the edges. First 30-45 minutes after opening, there was a "new sneakers" funk on the nose. After it blew off, the nose revealed beautiful raspberries, strawberries, cherries, flowers and leather. On the palate, this was light bodied and easy drinking. Stewed raspberries, tart cherries, with some tangy acidity finishing it out. Tannins were fully resolved, so it was a very light mouth feel. Like a cru Beaujolais' wiser, more refined older brother. As the wine warmed, the acidity seemed to stand out a bit more (around the 90 minute mark). Then at the 2-2.5 hour mark, the wine began to sing as all the elements started to really meld well together. Baked Cherry pie on the nose. Sour cherry, fresh raspberries, pie crust and fall baking spices on the palate. Acidity tamed and integrated perfectly. If you like light bodied wines, I can't imagine anything being much better than this. Best Burgundy I've had to date. Wow.
