Thursday, July 25, 2013 - I needed a Chardonnay for a chicken recipe and had read a favorable review of the Bonterra. I must say, for $10, this a respectable wine with pleasant green apple aromas, and a nice balance of minerality and whisper of oak. Medium bodied with a finish that was clean and made me think there was actually some done in the vineyard; not just "throw it all in and we'll mask it with massive amounts of oak". I got a flash of kiwi on the finish as well. Decent wines like this help keep it all in perspective for me. Can't drink white Burgundy all the time. Which reminds me, this was much better than the Macon Verze from Leflaive for which I paid three times as much. The Bonterra is made with organic grapes at 13.5%, says so right on the label.
