Saturday, June 4, 2016 - This is evolving at a slower pace than I expected. The wine is still quite tannic considering its age. It has a pungent nose of dark fruits, evergreen and some Christmas spice. The fruit on the palate is rich and tangy, resembling under-ripe plums. Unfortunately this was my last bottle, but if I had another, I would wait a year or two before opening. I would expect another 4-5 years out of this, right in line with John Olney's estimate on the back label.
