2001 Ridge Syrah Lytton Estate

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Wednesday, June 15, 2011 - Deep, dark, nearly opaque red. Aromas of red earth, plums, and animale. Palate is full of iron, blood, roasted meat, plum, currant, and a hint of leather on a medium-long finish. The tannins here are barely in check and this is entering a nice window of drinkability for my tastes. I expect further development and could see this one day reaching profound potential. Drink if curious or hold for further development.
