Monday, June 26, 2017 - APPEARANCE: Medium color. Not opaque. Ruby. Reddish purple. No cloudiness.

NOSE: On initial pop n pour there is strawberry, blackberry and blueberry. Slightly sweet fruit nose, more red licorice. As it gets air it really deepens and expands. Vanilla notes. Coffee notes I did not expect but love.

PALATE: Medium bodied yet ripe black fruit with super soft tannin on the finish. Lacking the savory, sometimes metallic quality I enjoy in some Mourvedres. This presents almost like a luscious Cabernet with black, blue and red fruits plus a hint of coffee undertone. Very very drinkable, yet complex. Nice combo.

A group of seven adults all loved this. Several insisted I tell them where we could buy more. Sadly, supplies are limited. (This is why, when you get the chance to stock up on Brian Loring's wines you have to jump on it, because you may not be able to get 'em later.)

Another thought: not sure if my palate is just that much different from prior tasters, or if this wine really evolved this much but it was an absolute star wine that disappeared very very quickly (sadly! as I cannot get more).
