Friday, February 3, 2012 - A surprisingly dark ruby color with no signs of age. A interesting nose of cranberry, red cherry and black fruits with a subtle bacon note on the finish. A surprisingly concentrated core of fruit with tart cherry balanced by bacon fat, supported by a fine tannic structure. The concentration gives the flavors an incredible length which softened a bit with air. This is a great wine, showing even better than anticipated, but may also continue to improve over the next 3-5 years...
