Thursday, August 22, 2013 - Very nice. Nose of fruit, spice, and a hint of vanilla. If you really search for it, you can even pick up a bit of butter hidden in there. There's not a lot of fruit on the palate, which is typical for older Zins. Very good spice, going to some oak. Good tannins provide structure, but the tannins have been softened with age. A very good Zinfandel, as long as you're not looking for a "fruit bomb."
