Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Double decanted for 2 hrs. The nose was restrained & not what I remembered. It tasted ok, but also less than I recall. A couple of tasters believed that it was slightly corked. I am usually very sensitive to TCA & did not pick it out, but that would explain the result.

6/18/2023 7:32:00 AM - The worst thing was that I suspected there was a problem & I still brought it to the brownbag tasting - embarassing!

6/18/2023 8:07:00 AM - Not at all. I actually served/drank a totally corked '01 Arrowood Reserve Speciale at dinner to my good friend Jean Noel the owner/winemaker of VGS. It was still good enough to drink (for me, not him) and it was a 'table lesson' for the night. What's embarrassing is when a winemaker's wife or a server at a Napa winery during a tasting pours you corked wine to try and doesn't realize it's corked! I've had that happen out there a number of times over the years.......
