Monday, May 13, 2019 - The 2009 Branaire-Ducru remains a deeply crimson colour with a primary nose of blackcurrant jelly, dark plums, black cherries, dark chocolate and cedar. The palate is quite rich and round but with breathing in the decanter for several hours a firmer and fine tannic structure becomes apparent. There is grip and dimension but that 82 like character of plush roundness will probably define this wine well into the future.
