Saturday, January 18, 2014 - Nose of dark fruits, chalk, rocks, and spices. The palate carries much of the same. There's a concrete? (Grandpa owned a quarry and there was a concrete producer on site...it reminded me of that powdered concrete smell and taste in the air.) This might be cool climate but it has every big of the body and mouthfeel of new world Syrah just not the sweet notes. Charcoal and beef notes there as well. Good, interesting wine.
