Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - Drunk at the ROH before and in the first interval of Robert le Diable.
Chose wine on producers reputation, certainly not the vintage and was fully vindicated in that decision.
Fragrant, sweet cherry aromas were reflected on the palate and held together by delicate supple tannins. Juicy and racey and held up perfectly during the 70+ minutes before the first interval. A fine wine in miniature that doesn't necessarily need food and certainly not for anything strong flavoured.
A real charmer that shows up so many other producers who don't seem to care about quality in poorer vintages, especially at the basic ends of their range.
Reasonably priced on the wine list. Drink over next year.
