Friday, April 23, 2010 - Our last bottle exceeded all expectations. The cork came out in many pieces after using a 2 cork screws, an Ah-So cork puller, and a crochet needle. The wine came out miraculously. There was no hint of oxidation on the rim. There was a wonderful core of red fruit and some zinfandel spice, but little complexity at our initial sampling of half the bottle. There were no obvious defects in the wine and the high alcohol content was unnoticeable. Who knows how much longer this particular wine will last, so enjoy it now if you have a bottle or two left.
