Friday, March 27, 2015 - Chassin Tasting Group (Joostenburg): Mid- yellow-gold colour towards a slightly browning rim. Aromas start with crayon and struck match reduction but as you swirl start to release melon, a noted tarragon herbal towards oregano and sweet marjoram towards white flowers. Intriguing, the palate has a fresh acidity and good horizontal line to the acidity whilst the gorgeously fragrant herbal brush/scrub with fennel fronds and sea salt merge with white fruits. Tight, with poise, this has concentration yet crescendos out toward a more delta-ed finish, finishing shorter than expected. Closes with some apples, melon and brine that seem to dissipate pretty quickly. I found a better structure than the Rully but with less length. It is biodynamically produced.
