Sunday, October 3, 2021 - The 1985 Vieux Télégraphe La Crau has succeeded marvelously in amalgamating the mellowness of age with the spicey, feral nature of CdP, offering a soft nose of red cherry and strawberry accented by warm earth, fennel, game, and cracked black pepper. The juxtaposition of sweet, mellow fruit and perfectly integrated spice on the palate is so winning (particularly with rack of lamb). And its long finish is prone to carry you off if you’re not careful… or at least to carry your hand back to the glass.
