Friday, December 23, 2016 - Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries, with moderate Pinot Noir spiciness in the finish. Very much a Flowers' wine, less expansive than a Martinelli, Marcassin, or Aubert, perhaps like adding rice to gumbo. Good balance with some nuance, and a fairly long finish. I drank this wine just before Christmas (with gumbo) A fellow Cellar Tracker taster drank it at Compere Lapin (Brother Rabbit), a New Orleans restaurant, in July. My family ate there on Christmas eve and had a wonderful meal, including crispy pig ears. So if someone should ever ask you what to drink with pig ears, say "try a Flower's Pinot Noir."
