Wednesday, June 19, 2013 - Splash decant ... This is a baby Bolts, and way too young to properly appreciate. But, even knowing that, we decided to give it a try and see what the two cases we laid down have in store. (And, needs must, a planned long decant to test didn't occur. Oops.)

Right now, the signature fruit is a bit hidden behind the gamey smoke and bacon fat, which kind of overwhelm the profile at present. Given past experience, I expect those elements to better integrate and let the blackberry notes shine through, at least to open given some more bottle time. I have no plans to pop another one of these for at least a year, so 91 for what we had right now (a too-young, pop-and-pour) with the potential to be another mid-90s Nuts given a bit of patience.
