Monday, February 3, 2014 - A ripe and slightly sweet Zin on the nose and in the mouth. The alcohol was 15.5% but was not noticeable by mouth or nose. Nice Zin flavor, smooth in the mouth with a nice finish that exhibited a very slight hint of dryness. The Mettler Family Vineyard was established in 1899 and it shows. Made from old vines in Lodi this Zin is reserved and not nearly as hot as some of the other Zins I have tasted from Lodi. This wine is not a high octane flavor bomb but a Zin that is a little sweeter and refined with some nuance to the flavors.
