Thursday, April 20, 2006 - Grossie and I recently split a 10-bottle lot on auction for around $45/each. I was having some leftover grilled leg of lamb, so I decided to benchmark one last week. Didn’t decant, just popped and poured. At first, I was alarmed by its softness, but it added muscle with air. Great black currant nose - and whiff of snickers bars. More fruit than I was anticipating, but lacking energy on the finish. Just a little underdeveloped and weak on the back end. Hard to say how much longer to hold. I don’t think more than 5 years.
