Tuesday, July 12, 2011 - Wow! This was an unbelievable surprise. It was a bottle that had been with us from the east coast to Calfornia and back over the last 20 years and was truly at its peak despite the travels. The nose was pouring over the glass from the outset. Earthy in the beginning but then the fruit came out after about 30 minutes and finally the fruit gave way to a hint of rich chocolate just as we headed for desert. This wine represents an experience that I have only realized a few times in many years of appreciating fine wines.
