Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - Decanted for 6 hours. Very impressive nose of mixed red fruit and orange blossoms. Very little if any toasted oak. Tannins continue to be present but are fine, grainy and integrated. Citrus red berries, cherry, and some green notes - may be celery stick? Long finish. This wine has probably a decade or two more to go. My favorite line from Wine Spectator tasting note (Sep 30, 1997 - score 96) is: "....gives Château Pétrus a run for its money". We have not had the fortune or pleasure of tasting Petrus before.
