Jam and oak are the main two things I get from tasting this wine with the latter being more dominant. The tannins weren't as bad as a cheap red on the plus side but I've had six-dollar bottles (from other producers i.e. gypsy's the chariot) that I would say were similar or even a better value than this wine.
