Tuesday, March 5, 2024 - One of the WOTN from a shootout of 14 bottles of NSG. This was the youngest and it wowed everyone. Several jokes about finally the Gouges is ready to drink! Was a bit shut down on opening, but blossomed with air. Great aromatic nose of fruit, floral and earth. Medium-weight dark red fruits on the palate - cherry and raspberry with some plum, woven through with dark earth, dried herbs, hint of old wood, but seamless and complex. Plenty of structure, nicely resolved tannins and still youthful after 30+ years. Wonderful.
