Sunday, October 23, 2016 - Poured into a chilling carafe upon opening, cork was pristine. Richer and weightier than expected, probably has seen lots of exposure to the lees and maybe some neutral oak. Medium straw color. Not very expressive nor aromatic. Stylistically different from most Melon de Bourgogne's which I have enjoyed in the past, primarily in that it lacks high acidity and tartness, and is instead very creamy and rounded in the mouth. Displays flavors of lightly salted buttered popcorn, and lemon meringue. Very unimpressive finish. Probably would not purchase again, although this producers "standard" bottlings are better and fresher in style.
