Thursday, April 14, 2016 - Got this for $22.99. It is 70% cabernet and 30% merlot. What is so impressive is how representative it is of that region. It immediately screams out "Pessac" from the glass shortly after uncorking. It is the Barde-Haut of Graves. Balanced, "pure." 12.5%!!!! I mean, hallelujah, 12.5%!!! How often do you see that? Tobacco, gravel, leaves, earth… The whole dusty Graves nine yards. I've really warmed to these 2012s. La Fleur de Bouard, Barde-Haut, Corbin, and now Haut-Bergey…. Very classy wines, at very reasonable $20-something prices. All of them will age 10-15 more years. I give this 2012 Haut-Bergey a solid 92 points.
