Thursday, November 14, 2013 - Birthday Dinner (Bishop's - Vancouver, BC): Picked this up in April when in Burgundy. Never heard of this producer and no idea of the grape source but colour and fill looked great so figured it was worth rolling the dice on. Surprisingly great nose showing tons of bright red fruit and boysenberry, along with some black pepper spice, a dark cherry undertone, and a hint of anise. The palate was a bit flat and underwhelming, showing more boysenberry, black raspberries, and plenty of rich black cherries. The fell off a bit on the back end with a short finish and lacked acidity, but wasn't dead by any means. Pleasant, but nothing special. Enjoyable more for sentimental reasons than anything else. Very good-
