Saturday, July 25, 2020 - Enjoyed over two nights. It’s great straight away but evolves considerably in the glass. Upfront salty fino characters, fresh paint, orange oil, smoke, lemon curd, toasted almonds, seaweed, just heaps going on. Huge aromatic intensity, the kind of wine you notice something different each time you look. Amazing texture, feels bone dry and the acidity is accordingly sharp, actually borderline shrill at times with a real sherbety/lemony tang. Absolutely mouthwatering. Real sherryish/nutty/umami sort of flavour, slick saline/mineral feel like I get in top tier German riesling, the sense of licking rocks. I get the feeling this wine will last forever, but it’s drinking amazingly right now.
