Saturday, November 19, 2016 - Nose: closed a bit early in the night with generic leather dark fruit and violet notes. However once fully open this became a pleasure bomb of sweet red fruits, spices, violets, blackberry and graphite. Palate: the feel on this was absolutely regal as usual and the dense sweet cherry was followed by leather jacket, baking spice and beautiful vanilla tones. Finish: Long and filled with a melange of flowers blackberry and spices. Somewhat less compelling than a prior bottle.

This bottle did not get enough time to open up fully. The last glass from the decanter later on the evening was really nice and showing lots of layers. Another Nath Johnston bottle.
