Friday, August 21, 2015 - A Night of Old Bordeaux at Latour Restaurant, Crystal Springs Resort, Hamburg, NJ - What an opening wine. Simply a superb bottle showing a beautiful balance between still fairly fresh dark black fruits and mature flavors of smoky minerals, dark spices and a hint of char. There is also a slightly green funky tobacco note that I often find in this wine but here it adds to the complexity on the finish. Seemingly drunk at its apogee tonight. Linear, balanced, sharply focused and clearly the best Calon Segur I've ever tasted. Wow!
