Friday, October 23, 2015 - Well, someone has to go out there and say that even young, this wine is virtually perfect. The color, the nose (wonderful fruit), the texture, the finish. This is wine that you can savor and sip and make it last and last. Some of the special selections are good but a bit lacking in depth or character. Not this one. I haven't seen ratings on it but if you enjoy big, luscious fruit forward cabs, you will not be disappointed. I have had two bottles--in two entirely different contexts--and it was both time a wine that made everyone stop and simply say: "Wow!" Does cabernet get better than this?

It is young, of course, so lots of forward fruit and the typical Caymus nose, but this wine has wonderful balance that lingers and will simply make you smile. Don't rush your way through it. Small pours and savor. I suspect that if you can give it some time after opening, it will be extraordinary. May try that with the next bottle!
