Monday, January 4, 2016 - The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), fig, mineral, toast, oak, bark, vanilla, violet, verbena and chocolate. It tastes like oak, vanilla, light toast, black currant (cassis), blackberry, mushroom, chocolate and sherry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

This was my favorite Caymus SS to date. It was dominated by chocolate notes, cassis and smooth silky tannins. We did not decant, and the wine did add nuances with a little time in the glass. Unfortunately, it was too good to leave in the glass for long! If you are a fan of big, fruit forward chocolatey cabs, you will absolutely love this wine! Hard to imagine it improving because everything comes together so well right now.
