Thursday, April 4, 2024 - My bottle was lively, a good amount of many fine bubbles. Suprised because the 88 and 89 i opened was not to good at all. The 88 and 89 has more body and darker aromas with unfortunately maderisation. This wine is more crisp and clean, much acid but has a rather short aftertaste.

The cork was weak and almost slided out with a small fizz. This champagne was crisp, pure and fresh. Tastes younger than its real vintage. On a blind i would have tought it was from the middle 90s. The acid is high but the aftertaste is quite short.

Taste includes: clean fresh green and small amount of red apples, citrus, small amount of brioche. The taste is tight and you can really chew the wine in your mouth!

I was suprised the 1985 is still kicking. Without a doubt the best bottle of a 39 year old champagne I ever tried.

Highly reccomended bottle!
