91 Points

Saturday, April 5, 2014 - A private dinner (Restaurant Sergi Arola **, Madrid, Spain): A blend of 91% Tempranillo and 9% Mazuelo, relatively cool fermentation at 18 - 25 Celsius, 14.6% ABV, 16 months on one year-old French barriques, 90.000 bottles produced. Bright cherry red, good saturation; expressive nose with black fruit, oak, spice and minerality; the palate strikes a nice balance between freshness and weight, while the soft tannins already allow drinking at this young age, juicy, lovely ripe fruit flavours; good to very good length. Attractive.
