Sunday, May 14, 2017 - Cloudy crimson color. Nose smells very much alive, with intense aromas of barnyard, sous bois, and pencil lead, with a very pure mineralic underpinning. The palate is similarly earthy and slightly ferric. There is ample acidity left but the fruit has receded, giving the overall impression of tart cherries or underripe stone fruit. Lots of interesting tertiary nuance throughout both the nose and the palate, but this has become a bit unbalanced in its late maturity. No reason to wait- enjoy now.
