Monday, October 25, 2010 - Popped and poured.
Ruby color, with a faint hint of amber at the rim. Initially some barnyard on the nose. This blew off quickly and after that: full aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, wet earth some mushroom, orange rind and black pepper evolving in the glass. Full bodied with lively fruit and smooth tannins following trough to a long finish that echoes some of the orange rind in the initial aromas.
This wine kept on evolving trough the evening. In particular the finish and the mid-palate extended quite a bit over a period of 3 hours.
This wine is drinking great right now. It will hold its level for some time, but I don't expect it to improve. Drink now - 2014
