90 Points

Saturday, December 18, 2010 - Of note: this was ranked 97 points and number 2 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator in 1989. This wine opened up rather slow but once it did drank very well. I got lots of crushed rock, rose petal, violets, and loam on the nose. The palate was refined and moderately complex well integrated tannins. Moderate finish. I think it's a bit past its prime but still a wonderful Bordeaux at age 24 years old. I was 12 when this wine was made and that's sort of cool.
