Wednesday, January 6, 2010 - Bright medium ruby core, medium pale garnet rim. Nose shows ripe dark cherry and plum fruit, rich earth and sous-bois notes and a slightly wild animal edge. Attractive, not over-ripe. Palate is medium/full bodied, with attractive, vibrant black cherry and plum fruit, some sous-bois notes, quite rich but with admirable freshness on the good length finish. Tannins slightly chewy on the finish still, but certainly not harsh or drying. All in all very good indeed for the year and drinking well.
