Friday, March 20, 2015 - Some light structure here considering it is from a disappointing vintage. The wine is pure and fresh as one expects from Metras, but this is a wine that will always be stuck in 1st gear I believe.

3/20/2015 1:00:00 PM - it is light bodied with a slight frame. I don't believe the wine will offer much more in terms of complexity. It is very simple IMO and will remain that way. I am familiar with Metras' wines, and am most disappointed by this vintage!

It's not clear if that was before the 2012 harvest but I suppose the loss of the old vines might have contributed to the 2012 vintage of this wine being disappointing. Perhaps his 2013 Moulin-à-Vent will give a better idea of what effect the uprooting had.

At the end of the day, 2012 is a weaker vintage.
