Saturday, August 9, 2014 - Decanted for 1.5 hrs. Initially closed with a bit of funk. After 1.5 hrs, starting to open up. Bright red and blackberry fruit with a hint of bubblegum aromas that is the telltale sign of gamay for me. Also, with spices, herbs, earth, and minerals intermixed. Palate comes with earth, minerals and herbs first then fruit followed by more earth and herbs. Light to medium weight but with really nice concentration. Long finish with fruit, grapefruit pith bitterness and earth. Nicely done. I think this might have a pretty long life as gamay goes.
